"description": "Analog Video Union was founded in order to unite a diverse community of analog video artists, where we learn from and support one another through our practices. Our foundation is centred on demystifying the myriad processes through which analog video art is created, and ultimately promoting it as a well-established fine art, whose roots reach deep into the 1960s, via the lengthy technological evolution of the Cathode-Ray Tube. We achieve this by sharing our techniques, and openly discussing our methodologies, while encouraging constant experimentation and guiding new analog video artists along their paths. It is a central tenet of ours to reject rigid technical purity; we believe the analog video aesthetic and ethos can be realized through both analog and digital technologies, which often work harmoniously together in hybrid processes without diminishing the unique spirit and spark that reside at the heart of our work.",
